Financial Coverage
Financial Aids:
Selected students will receive comprehensive financial support throughout their studies, including:
- Tuition Waiver: All tuition fees are covered, with an annual value of up to $35,000.
- Monthly Allowance: Students will also receive a regular stipend to help cover their living expenses:
- M.S. students: $20,000 per year
- Ph.D. students: $25,000–$30,000 per year, depending on academic progress
- On-Campus Accommodation: Free housing on campus, valued at approximately $7,000 per year, including utilities.
- Relocation Support: Financial assistance for visa processing, relocation, and travel expenses to help international students settle in Saudi Arabia.
- Health Insurance: Comprehensive health coverage worth approximately $1,450 per year.

Requirement
English Language Requirements:
Applicants whose previous education does not meet KAUST’s English-language requirements must provide an accepted English proficiency test score. The minimum scores are:
- IELTS: Overall score of 6.5, with at least 5.5 in each section
- TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 81, with a minimum of 17 in each section. KAUST Admissions Code: 4107
- PTE Academic: Overall score of 62, with at least 59 in each section
- Cambridge English – Advanced (CAE): Overall score of 176, with a minimum of 169 in each section
Important: A Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate is not accepted as proof of English language proficiency.
Condations
Applicants interested in the KAUST Fellowship must meet the university’s academic and language requirements before submitting their application. The main eligibility conditions are as follows:
- For Master’s admission: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university or higher education institution.
- For Ph.D. admission: Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Professional Master’s degrees: A professional Master’s degree is not considered equivalent to an academic Master’s degree. Applicants must clearly indicate the type of Master’s degree they hold in their application.
- Minimum age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time they begin their studies.
- Academic performance: KAUST maintains a competitive academic standard. Among admitted students, approximately:
- 90% have a GPA above 3.3
- 75% have a GPA above 3.5
- The minimum acceptable GPA is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent in another grading system.

- Official University Transcripts: Official transcripts of your university studies.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): An up-to-date Curriculum Vitae.
- Statement of Purpose (750 words): A 750-word statement covering your previous work, preparation for your intended field of study, relevant background and interests, academic plans, and career goals. You should also explain why you are applying for the program you wish to study.
- Contact Details of Three Referees: Contact information for three referees.
- Official English Language Test Score: An official score from an accepted English language test.
- Passport or National ID: A copy of your passport’s photo page or your national identification card.
