Job Summary
The overall responsibility of the RF Engineer is to fulfill the requirements for the smooth operation of RF nodes. Testing and integrating new NE with the existing network is also his responsibility.
The AWCC Jobs in Herat, (RF Engineer) will have responsibilities that include:
- Monitoring & maintaining the radio KPI of the 2G/3G/4G network, BSC/RNC, and Cell level and making recommendations for further improvement of the network quality using mAOS, PRS, and U2000.
- Analyzing TEMS and Genex Probe drive test measurements and making a recommendation to improve the situation.
- Planning actions for various marketing or country events (like EID, Concert, etc).
- Issuing WO for capacity and quality purposes.
- Issuing trouble tickets to O&M for any operational problem.
- Analyzing and taking proper actions during various benchmarking drive tests.
- SSV DT for newly integrated sites.
- Performing functionality tests during major network modification measurements.
- Investigating customer complaints to improve perception.
- Monitoring alarm, hardware, and transmission issues and escalating them to the related departments to fix the problem.
- Network Design & Capacity Planning – Network design activities involved:
- A clear understanding of 2G/3G/4G network structure, coverage strategy, planning tools, and design tools.
- Field & Technical Surveys.
- RF planning-related work & RF network design.
- Network Optimization & Performance:
- Knowledge about the optimization features of the network and the different ways of planning to optimize the network.
- Detailed Analysis and Optimization of existing & planned 2G/3G/4G sites for Drive Test Analysis & KPIs.
- 2G/3G/4G site performance verification activity using Actix and TEMS Post-processing tool to validate the coverage as designed, rigging errors & performance issues.
- Investigate problematic sites in correlations between drive test data, statistics, counters, and alarms and take corrective actions.
- 2G/3G/4G Optimisation, Frequency re-tuning, 2G/3G/4G drive data analysis, Co-Channel & Adj Channel Interference Identification, Neighbour analysis.
- Analyze Drive Test data to evaluate RF-related issues in Setup Failures, Call Drops, Handover Failures, Throughput improvement, suggesting missing Neighbours, Antenna Changes, down tilt, Reorientation, Neighbour Modifications, etc.
- Drive test for 3G/4G throughput performance and analysis log file for improvement.
- Create reports & templates while post-processing Log files.
- Recommend changes to the Network Parameters to improve Network Performance.
- Compare Network Performance before and after Optimization activities.
- Network Audit & Benchmarking:
- Physical site audit.
- Optimization parameter and setting analysis.
- Performance statistics analysis.
- Provide recommendations for the client’s issues.
Job Requirment
- B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science & Engineering, Telecommunication, or related subject area from a well-known reputed University.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Telecom service provider and at least 2 years of work experience as an RF Engineer.
- Deal with high demands, workloads, and emergencies.
- Willing to do the work under pressure and prolonged time.
- Willing to travel (To all regions while required).
