The Business Development Head will have responsibilities that include:
As the Head of Business Development, the incumbent is responsible for the following:
- Develop, review, and periodically update the Business Development Department’s manuals, policies, procedures, and operational checklists.
Annual Business Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Ensure that the department’s annual budget and business forecasts are prepared, reviewed, approved for each financial year, and implemented and monitored in accordance with the approved plans wherever applicable.
Audit Committee and Internal Audit Coordination:
- Ensure that all Business Development activities and records remain properly organized and fully aligned with the bank’s policies and requirements. Facilitate internal audits and inspections conducted by the Internal Audit Department (IAD) by providing the required cooperation, documentation, records, and access whenever requested.
- Prepare and develop business proposals for ministries, NGOs, and other relevant institutions and organizations.
- Conduct branch visits in accordance with the annual Business Development plan to support business growth and development.
- Ensure the achievement of assigned business targets and objectives.
- Organize and conduct weekly and monthly meetings with Business Development officials in line with the department’s annual plan.
- Prepare and present monthly or quarterly reports, as directed by the Board of Management (BOM), as well as the department’s annual report for senior management.
- Oversee the day-to-day management and execution of the bank’s Marketing and Business Development programs, including the effective coordination of advertising, media, and public relations activities.
- Manage and supervise the bank’s social media presence and related digital platforms, including the blog, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and other relevant channels.
- Support the implementation of website development initiatives and introduce new ideas and improvements whenever required.
- Maintain and manage comprehensive profiles and records within the key clients’ database.
- Represent and participate in national exhibitions and expositions with the objective of expanding business networks and strengthening business relationships.
- Identify and generate new business opportunities and leads.
- Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate, and guide the day-to-day Business Development activities of the bank, both at the Head Office and across all branches.
Job Descriptions and Staff Performance Appraisals:
- Ensure that appropriate and clearly defined job descriptions are prepared and provided to all employees working under the Business Development Department in coordination with the Head of Employees’ Affairs, and ensure that these descriptions are reviewed and updated periodically.
- Ensure that regular performance appraisals and evaluations are carried out for all employees reporting to the department and that the completed assessments are submitted to the Employees’ Affairs Department (EAD).
Customer Service:
- Ensure that the highest possible customer service standards are consistently maintained at the Head Office and all bank branches. Ensure that customer complaints are properly received, followed up, and resolved, with grievances addressed in the most appropriate manner.
- Develop and provide strategic direction and planning for the bank’s marketing function.
- Formulate and execute effective marketing strategies in accordance with the bank’s business objectives.
- Develop and implement an incentive scheme for the sales team, subject to approval from senior management.
- Establish, develop, and strengthen an effective sales team.
- Provide the sales team with clear guidance, continuous motivation, effective leadership, and appropriate direction.
- Work toward increasing the bank’s market share while strengthening its share of mind and share of heart among customers.
- Lead and support initiatives related to brand development and strengthening.
- Develop and implement an effective communication strategy.
- Strengthen the bank’s reputation and establish a positive image within the market.
- Maintain effective coordination and collaboration with other departments of the bank.
- Identify and provide appropriate training and capacity-building opportunities for the sales team.
- Maintain regular contact with key customers through meetings and visits.
- Establish and strengthen professional relationships with embassies and national and international NGOs.
- In coordination with the CEO, attend and participate in customer events and gatherings to further strengthen and maintain business relationships.
- Arrange the distribution of gifts and congratulatory messages to key customers on occasions such as New Year and Eid.
- Develop and maintain effective marketing relationships with relevant stakeholders and customers.
- Conduct market research to identify market trends, customer needs, and potential business opportunities.
- Ensure that an accurate and up-to-date customer database is maintained to support Customer Relationship Management (CRM) activities.
- Review, develop, and recommend appropriate product mixes based on market and customer requirements.
- Department Heads shall not make changes or undertake activities outside the scope of their regular responsibilities where such actions could create even a minimal level of risk for the bank. In such circumstances, prior approval must be obtained from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or the relevant committee.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities not specifically stated in this document but assigned or advised by the Head of Department.
Public Relations:
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee the bank’s internal and external events and related activities.
- Maintain effective coordination and liaison with media organizations and advertising agencies.
- Provide leadership and direction for all public relations activities and effectively manage the bank’s relationships with media representatives.
- Prepare, edit, finalize, and distribute public relations materials of the bank, including press releases, fact sheets, articles, and other relevant communication materials.
- Ensure that all necessary legal and compliance approvals are obtained for marketing and public relations materials and maintain the approved documents in centralized records for audit and reference purposes.
- Review and approve all required printed and promotional materials, including brochures, magazines, envelopes, bank profiles, designs, and other related materials.
- Organize and facilitate regular staff training focused on knowledge sharing and capacity development, ensuring that employees receive appropriate guidance regarding their responsibilities, professional conduct, workplace etiquette, and the proper execution of their respective duties.
Job Requirment
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, while candidates holding a Master’s degree will be given preference.
- Relevant professional certifications, specialized qualifications, or additional training in a related field will be considered an advantage.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in Business Development is required.
