An international non-profit humanitarian help organization called INTERSOS seeks to provide aid to individuals who are in danger as well as victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters. Since its founding in 1992, it has operated under the principles of respect for variety and peaceful coexistence, human dignity, solidarity, justice, and equal rights and opportunities for all, with a focus on the most vulnerable and unprotected. INTERSOS is an autonomous organization that efficiently responds to the needs of individuals in dire conditions of crisis, primarily in the world’s poorest areas, by means of its own humanitarian operators. These individuals suffer, deny themselves of basic necessities, dignity, and rights. It keeps its operational structure adaptable.

The Case Worker will have responsibilities that include:

    • Provide timely and client-centered case management for individuals with protection needs by assessing their situation, developing personalized case plans, and ensuring consistent follow-up in a safe and supportive environment.
    • Conduct intake interviews for referred or identified clients and open cases when vulnerability criteria are met. Carry out comprehensive assessments (with consent), considering emotional, social, behavioral, and protection-related factors. Home visits are conducted when needed.
    • Develop individualized case plans with clients, refer them to appropriate services, and support them through follow-ups, including accompaniment when required.
    • Provide ongoing emotional support and basic counseling while maintaining trust, confidentiality, and respect for the client.
    • Accurately document all case information, progress, and changes in the internal system, and ensure secure filing and data protection. Close cases when objectives are achieved.
    • Work in line with key protection principles such as confidentiality, do-no-harm, non-discrimination, and accountability.
    • Coordinate closely with service providers and participate in internal case discussions, highlighting urgent or high-risk cases to the Team Leader.
    • Identify service gaps and contribute to improving referral systems and coordination within the intervention area.

Job Requirment

    • A university degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is considered an advantage. At least one year of relevant professional experience is required.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and internet use, are essential.
    • The role requires strong interpersonal and communication abilities, reporting skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
    • A respectful, non-discriminatory attitude, along with empathy and a client-focused mindset, is essential.
    • Good command of English, Dari, and Pashto is required.
