AADA was founded in 2005 with the main aim of providing quality health and social services, professional capacity building, and promotion of equal access of communities to developmental and humanitarian services. AADA also responds to the needs of the Afghan people in accordance with the principles and fundamentals of civil society organizations. Quality improvement, geographic expansion, diversification of funding, institutional development, gender equity, women empowerment and community development are among the main strategic directions reflected in the “AADA Strategic Plan”. In its long life AADA has operated in 33 provinces of Afghanistan and has successfully implemented more than 125 health and health-related projects, including 28 education/capacity development projects. AADA is a multi-donor funded organization in partnership with the Government of Afghanistan and other international donors including USAID, World Bank, Global Fund and UN agencies.

Job Summary

• Develop a plan for training of CHWs/volunteers and community mobilizers at district and health facility levels;
• Support initiating the implementation capacity-building phase of the community-based- nutrition program (CBNP) throughout the Herat districts in close coordination and collaboration with the provincial nutrition officer and community-based health care (CBHC) officer;

The CBNP Master Trainer - ( 4 Vacancies ) will have responsibilities that include:

• Organize and conduct community mobilization sessions at the health post level.
• Conduct two days of refresher training for CHW/ volunteers to provide community-based nutrition services (growth monitoring, nutrition education & cooking demonstration, counselling, MUAC screening referral & follow-up) for households of children < 2yrs;
• Involve respective communities and local authorities in community-based nutrition program and ensure their engagement in identifying and selection of community volunteers considering the criteria set;
• Participate in CBNP and other training organized by UNICEF, PND, and AADA in or outside the province.
• Preparing the data and information needed to be entered into the reporting database and quarterly report.

Job Requirment

• Bachelor in education or diploma in nursing or midwifery with at least one year experience in community-based health care as a CBNP or CHW master trainer.
• Male and female couples who are either married or have mahram shar'ee relations that possess the required qualifications
• Fluency in written and spoken local language;
• Ability and willingness to travel to rural locations in Herat;
• Ability to work alongside others under stressful conditions in conflict-prone situations;
• Knowledge of computer applications (Office, Word) and basic English language is preferable.
