The IRC works in 10 provinces throughout Afghanistan, among which some of the most security volatile, and employs over 1000 staff.

Key responsibilities of Cleaner:
Responsibilty
Daily Sanitation & Waste Management
Empty and sanitize office waste bins daily, replacing trash liners across working areas, restrooms, and facility grounds. Ensure routine, timely cleaning and proper hygienic standards for all restrooms and designated office sections.
Seasonal Operations & Indoor/Outdoor Sweeping
Manage heating systems during the winter season to maintain comfortable office temperatures. Sweep corridors, exterior staircases, and surrounding outdoor compound grounds at least once daily.
Deep Cleaning, Furniture & Carpet Maintenance
Thoroughly clean under desks, seating areas, and sofas. Wash carpets when requested and clean windows, air cooling units, flooring, and light fixtures on a regular or scheduled basis.
Kitchen, Laundry & Emergency Cleaning Services
Provide assigned laundry, kitchen support, and meal preparation services. Deliver immediate spot-cleaning or emergency cleanup assistance upon request or whenever operational needs arise.
Facility Maintenance, Meeting Setup & Event Support
Maintain drinking water supplies and assist in arranging furniture and equipment for meetings and internal events. Inspect facilities to identify and report plumbing, lighting, door, or window maintenance issues to line supervisors.
Job Requirment
- Education & Literacy: High School Diploma (Grade 12 graduate) OR basic literacy skills (demonstrated reading and writing ability).
- Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in cleaning, facility maintenance, or housekeeping roles.
- Language Proficiency: Strong communication and basic reading/writing capabilities in local languages (Pashto and Dari).
- Work Ethic & Professionalism: High integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, patient demeanor, and a compassionate, diplomatic approach to workplace interactions.
- Teamwork & Stress Tolerance: Proven ability to collaborate effectively as a team player and manage tasks in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Highly adaptable and willing to work under challenging conditions and non-traditional schedules, including irregular hours or occasional night shifts when necessary.
