The Crafts Program Manager will have responsibilities that include:

Lead and manage Turquoise Mountain Afghanistan’s technical and vocational skills development programmes and teams.
Develop training strategies and oversee multiple craft training faculties, including arts, jewellery, woodwork, embroidery, and carpet design.
Manage recruitment, performance development, coaching, and professional growth of training staff.
Ensure effective programme planning, budgeting, compliance, risk management, and donor reporting.
Oversee curriculum development, training quality, learner assessment, and continuous improvement processes.
Ensure training programmes meet artisan needs, market requirements, cultural preservation goals, and inclusion standards.
Conduct skills assessments, improve training pathways, and support artisan career development and enterprise growth.
Contribute to strategy development, fundraising, partnerships, and donor engagement activities.
Represent Turquoise Mountain in coordination meetings with authorities, partners, and relevant stakeholders.
Promote teamwork, workplace values, equality, inclusion, and collaboration across internal and external teams.

Job Requirment

Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to support team development and improve organisational performance.
Experience managing diverse teams and promoting continuous professional growth.
Proven experience in technical, vocational, or skills development training programmes.
Background in education, cultural heritage, or traditional Afghan crafts is preferred.
Ability to apply creative knowledge and develop practical solutions.
Experience working with NGOs, government authorities, and external stakeholders is an advantage.
Passion for preserving and promoting Afghanistan’s traditional crafts and cultural heritage.
Strong communication, teamwork, feedback, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to encourage innovation, integrate artisan needs, and lead teams toward shared goals.
Willingness and ability to live and work in Afghanistan.
