The Aga Khan Health Services is an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) that supports activities in the health field, and manages more than 200 health facilities, including a network of Aga Khan Hospitals.
It works closely with the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and the Aga Khan University (AKU) on planning, training, and resource development, and with the Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) and the Aga Khan Planning and Building Services (AKPBS) on the integration of health issues into specific projects.
With community health programmes in Central and South Asia, as well as East Africa, AKHS is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit health care systems in the developing world. It provides curative health care through 237 health centres, dispensaries, hospitals, diagnostic centres and community health outlets to one million beneficiaries and handles 1.2 million patient visits annually.
Building on the Ismaili Community’s health care efforts in the first half of the 20th century, AKHS now provides primary health care and curative care in Afghanistan, India, Kenya, Pakistan, and Tanzania, and provides technical assistance to government in health service delivery in Kenya, Syria and Tajikistan.

The Driver will have responsibilities that include:
- Transport patients safely between their homes and clinics according to the approved schedule.
- Deliver health-center supplies, equipment, and other materials as requested by the direct supervisor.
- Transport staff to designated clinics and locations in line with the work plan.
- Drive safely and comply with Aga Khan Health Services and government traffic and safety regulations.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, functional, and properly maintained, arranging repairs when necessary.
- Check regularly that all essential vehicle equipment is available and in working condition.
- Ensure vehicle documents, driving license, insurance papers, and other required documents are kept in the vehicle at all times.
- Ensure the proper use and availability of seat belts, spare tires, repair tools, first-aid kits, and other essential safety equipment.
- Check the vehicle before use and ensure sufficient fuel is available, particularly before long-distance journeys.
- Maintain accurate daily mileage records, logbooks, and other required vehicle reports.
- Maintain professional, respectful, and appropriate conduct when dealing with colleagues and other individuals.
- Strictly prohibit the use or transportation of illegal substances in official vehicles; violations may result in termination of employment.
- Carry out other driving-related duties and responsibilities assigned by the direct supervisor.
Job Requirment
- Completion of Grade 12 is preferred.
- Candidates should at minimum be able to read and write well enough to maintain vehicle logbooks and basic records.
Work Experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant driving experience, preferably with organizations or in rural areas.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively in challenging conditions, including rough roads, remote areas, and irregular or extended working hours.
