Key responsibilities of Elevator Engineer (Re-announced):

• Elevator Operations & Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance:
• Perform routine servicing, diagnostic troubleshooting, and repairs on elevator controllers, VFDs/drives, motors, door operators, safety interlocks, encoders, limit switches, and emergency communication/car panels.
• Conduct post-maintenance functional testing to verify smooth leveling, door safety, speed control, acceleration, and emergency response systems.
• Access Control & Physical Security Systems:
  • Troubleshoot and maintain access control panels, card/biometric readers, magnetic locks, electric strikes, exit buttons, power supplies, and communication networks.
  • Resolve system failures such as unauthorized access alarms, reader disconnections, lock malfunctions, and power loss.
• BMS & Electronic Control Panels:
  • Oversee electronic control modules (e.g., Automated Logic MEx816u), universal I/O modules, sensors (temperature, pressure, humidity), actuators, and control wiring.
  • Diagnose 24 VAC/24 VDC power supply issues, relay failures, signal wiring glitches, and network communication faults across automation frameworks.
• Emergency Response, Safety & Contractor Supervision:
  • Respond immediately to emergency breakdowns, elevator entrapments, access control breaches, and critical BMS alarms following safety and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Technically evaluate and supervise third-party specialized contractors during system installations, upgrades, commissioning, and overhauls.
• Documentation & Asset Management:
  • Review electrical schematics, control drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Maintain up-to-date maintenance logs, incident reports, asset registers, and ensure adequate availability of critical electronic spares and modules.

Job Requirment

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or Control & Instrumentation Engineering.
• Work Experience:
  • 5 to 10 years of hands-on professional experience in elevator/lift systems, access control networks, BMS/automation, and facility maintenance.
  • Proven track record in electrical/electronic troubleshooting, diagnostic fault-finding, and root-cause analysis (RCA).
  • Experience supervising specialized engineering contractors and technical service providers is an advantage.
• Technical Knowledge & Competencies:
  • In-depth expertise in elevator control architectures, VFDs/drives, door operators, safety interlocks, encoders, and control panels.
  • Practical capability in maintaining access control hardware (biometric/card readers, controllers, magnetic locks, exit devices).
  • Advanced understanding of BMS/Building Automation (specifically Automated Logic controllers, I/O modules, sensors, and actuators).
  • Ability to test and diagnose 24 VAC/24 VDC control circuits, relays, contactors, power supplies, and field wiring.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, panel drawings, and control wiring diagrams.
  • Skilled in utilizing diagnostic testing tools (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers).
