The Aga Khan Health Services is an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) that supports activities in the health field, and manages more than 200 health facilities, including a network of Aga Khan Hospitals. It works closely with the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and the Aga Khan University (AKU) on planning, training, and resource development, and with the Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) and the Aga Khan Planning and Building Services (AKPBS) on the integration of health issues into specific projects. With community health programmes in Central and South Asia, as well as East Africa, AKHS is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit health care systems in the developing world. It provides curative health care through 237 health centres, dispensaries, hospitals, diagnostic centres and community health outlets to one million beneficiaries and handles 1.2 million patient visits annually. Building on the Ismaili Community’s health care efforts in the first half of the 20th century, AKHS now provides primary health care and curative care in Afghanistan, India, Kenya, Pakistan, and Tanzania, and provides technical assistance to government in health service delivery in Kenya, Syria and Tajikistan.

Key responsibilities of Guard:

    Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties:

    • Access Control & Facility Security:
      • Secure the internal and perimeter areas of the office and guesthouse premises.
      • Station continuously near the main entry points, register all incoming visitors, and direct them to their respective destinations.
      • Screen visitors, perform physical body searches on suspicious individuals when required, and restrict unauthorized access to the facility without explicit administrative approval.
    • Patrols & Surveillance:
      • Conduct routine foot patrols around the office grounds and report any suspicious objects, persons, or security risks directly to the Security Manager or Administration.
      • Strictly maintain the confidentiality of institutional and staff information, as breaches lead to immediate contract termination.
      • Carry official identification cards at all times during duty hours and adhere to strict professional standards (listening to radio or watching television during working hours is strictly prohibited).
    • Facility Maintenance & Logistic Support:
      • Oversee overall cleanliness (interior and exterior) of the office and guesthouse and ensure proper waste disposal at designated dumping sites.
      • Monitor water supply levels to ensure tanks remain full and plumbing fixtures function properly.
      • Manage office heating assets; safely operate gas cylinders, monitor gas/fuel supplies, light wood-burning heaters according to schedules, and transport firewood/generator fuel as directed.
      • Ensure all heaters and gas appliances are safely shut off in unoccupied rooms.
      • Operate and maintain the facility generator according to established schedules and logbook entries.
      • Prepare and serve tea to staff and visitors in the absence of the cook upon supervisor request.
      • Safeguard institutional property and perform additional duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirment

    Work Experience & Technical Skills:

    • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant operational experience in a similar guard or security role.
    • Certifications: Holding official work experience certificates or documentation in a relevant security/guard field is considered a distinct advantage.
    • Skills & Attributes: Must possess strong physical capability, mental readiness, and operational stamina.
