The Moore Global network traces its origins back to a small auditing, tax consulting and insolvency practice set up by Harold Moore and Albert Partridge in 1907. Moore, Partridge & Co occupied a building not far from the Guildhall in the heart of the City of London, evolving steadily until the outbreak of war in 1914. By the end of the conflict, Albert Partridge had left and the business entered a new phase of growth. In 1918 Harold Moore formed Moore, Stephens & Co with John Robinson Stephens, who had managed the firm while his new business partner served in the Royal Flying Corps in the First World War. The name was shortened to Moore Stephens in 1986, then evolved again when the global network rebranded as Moore in 2019.

Key responsibilities of Livelihood Officer:

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Design & Implementation: Design and execute field-level livelihood projects and operational plans tailored to ABADEI program guidelines and local community needs.
• Women's Economic Empowerment: Develop dedicated livelihood initiatives for women, including Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), greenhouses, honey and beeswax processing, and sustainable value-chain marketing.
• Market Linkages & Guidance: Provide technical expertise to establish strong forward and backward market linkages for alternative livelihoods and micro-enterprises in targeted rural areas.
• Community Assessment & Mapping: Conduct field-level livelihood and climate vulnerability assessments; map existing support mechanisms and facilitate dialogues with provincial authorities for sub-national planning integration.
• Rangeland & Environmental Management: Contribute to sustainable rangeland management strategies, including land rehabilitation, afforestation, and reforestation initiatives.
• Monitoring & Transparent Reporting: Supervise and monitor field activities, providing comprehensive reports to ensure transparent and effective project delivery in coordination with the UNDP regional office.
• Socio-Economic Research & Costing: Carry out beneficiary targeting exercises, cost analyses, and research to identify sustainable adaptation measures and financial delivery mechanisms.
• Additional Duties: Execute any other project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirment

Job Requirements:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Agricultural Development, Socio-Economics, Environmental Sciences, Climatology/Meteorology, Disaster Management, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant practical experience in livelihoods and community development projects.
  • Proven experience in conducting field-level livelihood assessments, socio-economic analysis, and baseline surveys.
  • In-depth understanding of Afghanistan’s sub-national governance, institutional structures, and community contexts.
• Language Requirements:
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English (technical and conversational).
  • Native or fluent proficiency in national languages (Dari and Pashto).
• Core Competencies & Functional Skills:
  • Analytical & Reporting: Strong analytical capacity to synthesize complex project outputs into high-quality technical reports and documentation.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively in sensitive environments.
