Job Summary

    • The Provincial Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing construction projects across the province. This role includes planning, coordinating, and implementing construction projects while ensuring compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and engineering principles. The engineer will work closely with contractors, provincial authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

The Provincial Engineer - Kunduz will have responsibilities that include:

    • Oversee all phases of construction projects from design through completion.
    • Develop project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
    • Work with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure alignment with project objectives.
    • Monitor ongoing construction activities to ensure they comply with project designs, local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
    • Ensure that construction projects remain on schedule and within budget.
    • Conduct site inspections to assess project progress, quality, and safety.
    • Liaise with provincial authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve project challenges.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for construction projects within the province.
    • Prepare regular progress reports and present updates to senior management and government officials.
    • Ensure all construction activities are compliant with provincial and national laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
    • Coordinate the approval of permits and inspections as required by law.
    • Lead, train, and mentor a team of site engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals.
    • Develop and manage construction budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • Track expenses and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising project quality.

Job Requirment

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Experience:
    • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in civil or construction engineering roles.
    • Experience in managing infrastructure or public works projects is essential.
    • Proven leadership in managing teams and projects.
    • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of construction management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    • Familiarity with provincial construction laws, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Primavera).
    • Working Conditions:
    • Office-based with frequent visits to construction sites across the province.
    • Travel may be required to attend meetings, inspect sites, or consult with external stakeholders.
