RURAL REHABILITATION ASSOCIATION FOR AFGHANISTAN (RRAA)

Rural Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (RRAA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political NGO established in 1990. The head office of the organization is located in Kabul, Afghanistan, and delivers humanitarian services in the sectors of Livelihood, Good Governance, WASH, and Emergency through its four regional offices in Mazar, Herat, Jalalabad, and the central zone in a decentralized manner In 1990 NPO was officially recognized as non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization and registered with Pakistan authorities as an independent NGO. At this stage the position of Norwegian Embassy also changed from supervisory to an advisory role including provision of capacity building at individual and organizational levels. Beside continuation of financial support from Norwegian embassy NPO was able to raise fund from other international organizations like UNHCR, NRC/NCA and CWS. In 1993 the organization decided to shift parts of its activities inside Afghanistan by establishing four regional offices in the north, south, east and west of the country, while the head office of the organization was in Pakistan. In order to take active part in rehabilitation and reconstruction of the country the organization was involved in implementation of projects and program in health, agriculture, income generation, construction or rehabilitation of roads, construction and rehabilitation of irrigation structures and provision of safe and clean drinking water.

Job Summary

    • Screening and identification of deported unaccompanied minors/ separated children at the zero point in Islam Qala border in cooperation with border staff of DOOR and IOM through approaching the buses carrying the deportees from Iran, Welcome the deportees, explain the post –arrival services available to particularly the UAMs.
    • Accompanying and guiding the screened UAMs toward DORR office for confirmation and receiving Referral forms
    • Accompanying and guiding the UAMs toward. IOM office for registration and receiving Beneficiary ID card for accessing to the post –arrival services (Refreshments /Lunch, Medial Assistance and Transportation to GTC in Herat)
    • Identify unaccompanied minors and separated children with Psychosocial problems and report it to Lead screener for sharing the cases to the Psychosocial officers in GTC for debriefing and counseling.

The RRAA Jobs in Herat , (Screener) will have responsibilities that include:

    • TO coordinate closely with the RRAA Monitoring and Evaluation Department on M&E requirements of the project.
    • Close coordination and effective communications with the staff of DOOR, IOM, AIHRC,UNHCR-CHA ,border police and other key involved actors in regards of the UAMs.
    • Strictly adheres to all RRAA policies and procedures, including child protection policy.
    • Prepares and submits daily, weekly and monthly activity reports to the lead screener.
    • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirment

    • Bachelor’s degree in the related field
    • Minimum 2 years of working experience
    • Proficiency Pashtu and Persian languages highly essential
    • Patient and with good understanding of humanitarian and development work
    • Hardworking and able to work with people from different backgrounds
    • Honest and accountable
