**Internally:** Work closely with the HoM, Deputy HoM, and Project Coordinators to identify safeguarding and prevention needs across the mission and its projects. Collaborate with the HR Department and Field Coordination team, including Project Coordinators, Project Medical Referents, and other relevant staff, during project visits to plan, monitor, and follow up on all related activities.

Key responsibilities of WATSAN SUPERVISOR:
Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties:
- WATSAN Activity Implementation: Oversee the day-to-day execution and administration of project-level WATSAN initiatives, including safe water supply, excreta disposal, healthcare waste management, vector control, and management of deceased bodies in adherence to MSF protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance & Infrastructure: Ensure regular maintenance and repair of technical WATSAN equipment. Collaborate with construction logistics to design and construct environmental health infrastructure, executing preventive maintenance plans for systems like water dispensers, Dosatron dosing pumps, and storage tanks.
- Vector Control & Hygiene: Organize and implement Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) and vector control measures across MSF facilities, guest houses, and outreach areas. Monitor Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards alongside health facility hygienists and cleaners.
- Supply & Stock Management: Manage WATSAN materials, tools, and chemicals. Monitor physical inventory, process material requests, verify stock entries, and track monthly consumption rates.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response: Assist the WATSAN Manager in maintaining emergency response readiness by verifying contingency stocks, transport logistics, and team preparedness, participating in exploratory visits or field deployments as required.
- HR Supervision & Team Leadership: Supervise assigned WATSAN staff through recruitment, task delegation, performance evaluations, roster planning, and technical capacity building.
- Monitoring, Data Collection & Reporting: Utilize Environmental Health scanning tools to monitor health facility standards, maintain accurate operational logs, participate in data collection, and report technical or administrative issues to the WATSAN Manager.
Job Requirment
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Education:
- Essential: Higher Diploma, Technical Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent credential in Water and Sanitation, Environmental Health Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Desirable: Specialized post-graduate or technical training in water and sanitation systems.
- Experience:
- Essential: Proven technical experience in executing and organizing multi-faceted field activities, preferably within MSF or similar international humanitarian environments.
- Desirable: Hands-on technical experience in conducting WATSAN inspections, technical audits, and environmental risk assessments. Practical expertise in plumbing systems, water supply distribution networks, wastewater disposal, and pipe fitting configurations.
- Language & IT Skills:
- Languages: High-level written and spoken command of English, alongside full fluency in national languages (both Dari and Pashto).
- Computer Skills: Essential proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, internet usage, and digital communication tools.
