Key responsibilities of Trailer Driver:

• Safe Vehicle Operation: Safely operate trailer trucks for local and long distance cargo transportation in strict accordance with company operational plans.
• Cargo & Container Transport: Securely transport containers, commercial goods, and heavy equipment to designated regional destinations on schedule.
• Pre and Post-Trip Inspections: Perform routine pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections, verifying brake functionality, tire pressure, lighting systems, and engine conditions.
• Coupling & Locking Operations: Ensure trailers are correctly coupled and firmly locked using fifth wheel safety systems prior to departure.
• Cargo Inspection & Securement: Inspect, balance, tie down, and verify the safety of all loaded cargo before starting any transit journey.
• Regulatory & Traffic Compliance: Strictly adhere to national road safety laws, transport regulations, highway guidelines, and corporate safety policies.
• Logbook & Trip Documentation: Maintain accurate logbook entries covering fuel consumption, mileage, trip details, delivery receipts, and unexpected road delays.
• Incident & Defect Reporting: Promptly report any technical malfunctions, mechanical defects, accidents, or transit irregularities to the fleet supervisor.
• Cargo Handling Assistance: Assist operations personnel with loading and unloading cargo whenever required.
• Vehicle Maintenance & Cleanliness: Maintain internal and external cleanliness of the truck and trailer while performing routine basic maintenance.
• General Operational Duties: Execute additional tasks and operational duties assigned by the transport manager.

Job Requirment

• Educational Background: Basic functional literacy is required (preference will be given to holders of a High School / Grade 12 Certificate).
• Work Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in heavy vehicle and trailer driving.
• Licensing Requirements: Possession of a valid Heavy Vehicle Driver License.
• Technical Skills & Mechanical Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of road safety rules, highway traffic procedures, and cargo securement.
  • Practical mechanical understanding of trailer systems, fifth wheel mechanisms, and basic maintenance tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of equipment and procedures relevant to heavy transport operations.
• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in at least one of the local languages (Dari or Pashto).
• Personal Attributes & Fitness:
  • High physical capability and stamina required to perform heavy vehicle driving and cargo checks.
  • High standard of work ethic, honesty, and professional integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively and remain calm under operational pressure.
• Operational Flexibility: Willingness to travel across provinces, execute long distance trips, and work extended hours when required.
• Compliance: Strict commitment to corporate rules, safety standards, and company policies.
